The current promotion is listed from August 31 through December 31, 2026. Individual tournament dates and qualifying schedules are available in the Stake Poker tournament lobby.

The $200,000 guarantee applies to the total tournament prize pool, which players compete for a share of. It is not an individual reward.

How to Qualify for Stake Showdown Poker

Stake Showdown uses a three-step satellite structure. Successfully qualifying at each stage awards entry to the next, with Step 3 awarding a $1,000 Main Event seat.

StageBuy-inQualification reward
Step 1$0.50Entry to Step 2
Step 2$10Entry to Step 3
Step 3$100A $1,000 Stake Showdown seat
Main Event$1,000Compete for a share of $200,000+

Players can start at any stage. You can enter Step 2 for $10, Step 3 for $100, or buy directly into the Main Event without playing the satellites.

Starting at $0.50 offers the lowest entry cost for a qualifying attempt, but reaching the Main Event requires progressing through all three stages.

What Changed From the $125K Format?

The advertised guarantee has increased from $125,000 to $200,000 — a rise of $75,000, or 60%.

The qualification ladder remains $0.50 → $10 → $100 → a $1,000 Main Event seat. The direct buy-in also remains $1,000.

The September 27 date covered in the previous version of this article relates to the earlier event. For upcoming Stake Showdown tournaments, use the current lobby schedule.

Tournament Dates and Where to Register

Open the Stake Poker tournament lobby to find Stake Showdown Main Events and qualifying satellites.

Before registering, check the tournament’s start time, buy-in and qualification reward. If you plan to begin at Step 1, allow enough time to complete the later stages before your intended Main Event.

December 31, 2026 is the listed end date of the promotion. It should not be treated as a confirmed Main Event date.

Terms to Check Before Entering

Review the live tournament details and the applicable Stake Poker rules before paying a buy-in. Stake references its Card Room Rules, Security & Ecology Policy and Refund Policy for this promotion.

Stake also reserves the right to hold, void, suspend, cancel or amend the promotion where necessary. Confirm that Stake Poker is available in your jurisdiction.

FAQ

Does paying $0.50 guarantee a Stake Showdown seat?

No. The $0.50 buy-in enters you into Step 1 only. You must successfully qualify through Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3 to earn the $1,000 Main Event seat.

Where can I find the next Stake Showdown start time?

Check the Stake Poker tournament lobby. It lists individual Main Events and satellites; the promotion’s overall end date does not establish their start times.
